You have a boring conversation with Jeff about mostly work stuff.
You: “Hey, how about work stuff?”
Jeff: “It is going ok, how about you?”
You: “It was pretty good. So, what’s the deal with that tiger outside?”
Jeff starts talking and you totally zone out. God, how is he in sales? He’s always just like, “blah blah blah, tiger this, tiger that.” You’re thinking about ice cream when you realize he’s been finished for quite some time. He is staring at you, waiting for you to speak.
You: “Thanks for your insight, Jeff. You’re an important part of our team.”
You quickly return to where you were before and find that nothing has changed at all.
A group of your co-workers are gathered around a table. There are baby-related balloons tied to a string in the corner. The decorations are all in pink. The baby shower fingerprint guestbook you have been thinking about buying stands out conspicuously, as if for product placement purposes.
To your left is Tricia from accounting and Jeff from sales. To your right is Amee, and that new guy Matt or Mike. In front of you, on the table, is a laser pointer. You also see cake, but don’t get your hopes up because that’s not part of the adventure.
