You look around at all the baby shower decorations. “Some kind of… pet thing?” you say to yourself, and also out loud a little so that Jackie looks at you strangely. You quickly walk over to the group of co-workers before she suspects anything.
“Hello, friends,” you say convincingly.
Elizabeth looks up at you warily. “Welcome back. You’re not going to try to steal our computers again, are you?”
You force yourself to look away from the monitor on the desk nearby. “Of course not,” you lie. “I’m just here to celebrate like you!”
“Good,” she says. “And please don’t do anything else weird while you’re here. We’re still finding the soda cans you hid all over the office.”
“That soda was terrible,” you reasonably reply.
The tension is getting high over here. You’d better come up with a move, pronto.
